GED 102 Akıl Oyunları ve Satranç

 

Bu derste zekâ oyunları aracılığıyla öğrencilere; stratejik düşünme becerisi kazandırmak, meseleleri çok boyutlu ele alarak farklı bakış açılarıyla değerlendirebilmelerini sağlamak hedeflenmektedir.

 

 

Mind Games and Chess

                                           

In this course, the aim is to have students gain strategic thinking skills via mind games, and to have them being able to evaluate the issues from the angles of multi-dimensions and different points of view. 

 

 

GED 103 Arkeoloji

 

Dersin amacı öğrenciye arkeolojinin temel kavram ve terimlerini,içeriğini ve sınırlarını öğretmektir. Bir bilim dalı olarak arkeolojinin terminolojisi, geçmiş uygarlıklara ve günümüzdeki uygulamalara genel bir bakış verilir. Öğrenciler bu derste arkeolojinin ne olduğunu, hangi yöntemleri kullandığını, içeriğini, sınırlarını ve genel hatlarıyla terminolojiyi öğrenir.

 

     

Archaeology

 

The aim of the course is to teach the basic concepts and terms, content and boundaries of archeology.  Content: The terminology of archeology as a discipline, an overview of past civilizations and current practices.

 

 

GED 104 Aydınlardan Portreler

 

Türkiye’de düşünce hayatını etkileyen, siyasal oluşumlara, düşünce akımlarına ve sanata öncülük eden önemli fikir ve eylem insanlarını tanıtan derste toplumun düşünce hayatını besleyen isimlerinin; yaşamı, düşünceleri, yapıtları, dönemi, etkileri ‘portre’ kavramı içinde incelenmesi amaçlanır.

 

 

Portraits of the Intellectuals

 

As part of the course covering the introduction of thoughts and action people who are the leading figures in currents, political developments and arts in Turkey, it is aimed to make a study of the life, thoughts, works, periods and impacts of these names who cultivate the thinking life of society within the concept of “portrait”.

 

 

 

GED 105 Biyoçeşitlilik

Bu ders, tüm yönleri ile biyoçeşitlilik kavramını, biyoçeşitlilik kaybının sonuçlarını, ülkemiz ve dünya biyoçeşitliliğinin önemini ve korunması ile ilgili çalışmaları öğrencilere anlatmak için tasarlanmıştır. Dersin temel amaçları;

1. Öğrencilere biyoçeşitlilik kavramını öğretmek ve bu kavramı oluşturan unsurların bilincine varmasını sağlamak,

2. Biyoçeşitliliğin küresel ve ülkemiz açısından önemi hakkında öğrencilerin farkındalığını arttırmak,

3. Öğrencilerin insanların geleceği için biyolojik çeşitliliğin önemini algılamalarını sağlamaktır.

 

Bu dersin konuları:  Biyoçeşitliliğin tanımı, biyoçeşitliliği etkileyen faktörler, tür çeşitliliği ve endemik türler, genetik çeşitlilik ve ekosistem çeşitliliği, biyoçeşitliliğin önemi ve korunması, dünya genelinin faunistik ve floristik görünümü ve coğrafik dağılımı, Türkiye biyoçeşitliliği ve komşu ülkeler ile karşılaştırılması, biyoçeşitlilik açısından doğal alanların (milli parklar ve tabiatı koruma alanları) korunması, ülkemiz biyoçeşitliliğinin gelecekte oynayabileceği rollerin ortaya konması, biyoçeşitliliği tehdit eden faktörler, genetik çeşitlilik üzerine tehditler ve küresel ölçekte çözüm önerilerinin tartışılmasıdır.

 

 

Biodiversity

 

This course is designed to teach students the concept of biodiversity with all aspects, the consequences of the loss of biodiversity, the importance of biodiversity and related studies about the conservation of biodiversity in Turkey and the World.

 

The main objectives of the course:

1. To teach students the concept of biodiversity and to make them aware of the elements of biodiversity,

2. To increase students' awareness about the importance of biodiversity on a global scale and for our country,

3. To enable students understand the importance of biological diversity for people's future.

 

The subjects of this course are definition of biodiversity, factors affecting biodiversity, species diversity and endemic species, genetic diversity and ecosystem diversity, importance and protection of biodiversity, faunistic and floristic appearance and geographic distribution throughout the World, Turkey biodiversity and comparison with the neighboring countries, protection of natural areas (national parks and nature conservation areas) in terms of biodiversity, factors threatening biodiversity, threats on genetic diversity and discussion of solutions on a global scale.

 

   

GED 106 Büyük Besteciler ve Başyapıtları

 

       Avrupa çok sesli müzik tarihinde yer alan büyük besteciler ve başyapıtlarının müzik ve sanat tarihi bağlamında ele alınması; görsel, duysal, yazılı kaynaklarla desteklenen dersin müzik tarihine dair genel perspektif kazandırması amaçlanmaktadır. Bu kapsamda, L. van Beethoven’ın 9. Senfonisi, W. A. Mozart’ın Sihirli Flüt Operası, P.I. Çaykovski’nin Kuğu Gölü Balesi gibi yapıtlarının yanı sıra, Ahmed Adnan Saygun’un Yunus Emre Oratoryosu ve Hasan Ferit Alnar’ın Kanun Konçertosu gibi büyük besteciler ve onların yapıtlarının tanıtılması hedeflenmektedir.

 

 

Great Composers and Masterpieces

 

The course aims to study the major composers and masterpieces in the history of European polyphonic music in the context of music and art history; it also aims to provide a general perspective on the history of music, supported by visual, sensory and written sources. In this context, besides masterpieces such as L. van Beethoven's 9th Symphony, W. A. Mozart's Magic Flute Opera and P.I.  Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake Ballet, it also aims to introduce great composers and their works such as Ahmed Adnan Saygun's Yunus Emre Oratorio and Hasan Ferit Alnar's Concerto of Qanun’s.

 

 

GEC 107 Creative Writing

 

It may be assumed that, literary works have a major effect on sciences and arts. It can be considered that a lot of inventions and technical achievements were found and designed by the inspiration of a certain literary creation. It can be thought that Genetic Engineering has found meaning after used in William Gibson’s novel “Neuromancer” or Jean Baudrillard’s theory of “Simulation and Simulacra” has been affected by J. G. Ballard’s novel “Crash”. In the lecture that is going to be told by these and many more examples, there will be some exercises that is going to integrate science and arts with “Reverse Engineering”. There will be philosophical, sociological, aesthetic and literary approaches to the creative writing in the extent of the lecture. The structure of the lecture will be designed like this and approximately twenty master story plots ( Quest, Adventure, Pursuit, Rescue…) will be shared with the students. With these story structures in the center of philosophy, sociology, aesthetics and literature, creative writings will be produced. In the lecture, theory and practice will go side to side. The lecture which is going to aim to make students improve in both of their literary and academic writings is expected to continue with a structure that is going to advance the vision of creative writing.

 

Yaratıcı Yazarlık

 

Edebi eserlerin, sanat ve bilim dallarında çok büyük etkisi olduğu varsayılabilir. Günümüzde keşfedilen birçok buluş ve teknik, bir edebi eserde hayal edilip tasarlanmış veya bir edebi eserin yarattığı ilhamla ortaya çıkmış olabilir. Genetik mühendisliği kavramı William Gibson’ın “Neuromancer” romanında kullanıldıktan sonra anlam kazanmış gibi düşünülebilir veya J. G. Ballard’ın “Crash” romanından yola çıkarak Jean Baudrillard’ın “Simülasyon ve Smülakr” teorisinin ortaya çıktığı varsayılabilecektir. Bu ve benzeri bir çok örnekle yola çıkılacak olan derste, “Tersine Mühendislik” yapılarak bilim ve sanatı edebiyata entegre etmeye yönelik çalışmalar yapılacaktır. Yaratıcı yazarlığa felsefi, sosyolojik, estetik ve edebi yönlerden yaklaşılacaktır. Dersin altyapısı bu şekilde kurulacak ve ardından da yirmiye yakın temel öykü kurgulama tekniği (Araştırma, Serüven, Kovalamaca, Kurtarma…) öğrencilerle paylaşılıp, bu tekniklerle; felsefi, sosyolojik ve estetik konular ele alınarak yaratıcı yazılar üretilecektir. Derste teori ve uygulama eş zamanlı olarak ilerleyecektir. Ürünlerin hem edebi hem de akademik eserlerde öğrencilerin gelecekteki üretimlerinde yol gösterici bir tavırla üretilmesini esas alacak olan dersin, yaratıcı yazarlığa vizyon katacak bir yapıyla ilerlemesi hedeflenmektedir.

 

GED 108 Dijital Dönüşüm

 

Bilişim ve iletişim teknolojilerindeki son dönemlerdeki gelişmeler tüm dünyayı etkilemektedir. Bilginin elde edilmesi, depolanması, işlenmesi ve iletilmesi açısından dijitalleşme tüm sektörler için çok önemli hale gelmektedir. Bilgisayar okuryazar sayısı ve bu portalleri ve dijital sistemleri kullanan vatandaş sayısı da artmıştır. Bu derste oluşan dijital değişim ve dönüşümün yapısal, işlemsel ve insan boyutları ve uygulamaları üzerinde durulacaktır.

 

 

Digital Transformation

 

Recent developments in information and communication technologies affect the whole world. Digitalization is very important for all sectors in terms of obtaining, storing, processing and transmitting the information. The number of computer literate and the number of citizens using these portals and digital systems have also increased. In this course, the structural, operational and human dimensions and applications of digital change and transformation will be emphasized.

 

 

GED 109 Edebiyat ve Toplum

 

Edebiyatın, toplumsal meselelere ışık tutan yönünün eserler aracılığıyla siyasi ve sosyolojik yapı bağlamında kavranması amaçlanır.

It is aimed to utilize literature in order to grasp the social issues by studying literary works within the context of political and sociological structures. 

 

 

 

GED 110 Ekoloji

Bu ders, günümüz küresel sorunları açısından büyük önem taşıyan çevre bilimini, temel kavramlarını ve kapsamını öğrencilere anlatmak için tasarlanmıştır.

Dersin temel amaçları,

1. Öğrencilere çevre bilimi ve temel kavramlar hakkında bilgi vermek,

2. Öğrencilere ekosistem ve ekosistemde meydana gelen olaylara antropojenik etkileri ve bunun canlılar üzerindeki olumsuz sonuçlarını kavratmak,

3. Dünyadaki ekosistemler, doğal koruma alanları ve biyoçeşitlilik hakkında öğrencilerin bilgi sahibi olmasını sağlamak,

4. Ekolojik sorunlar ve çözüm yolları ile ilgili öğrencileri bilinçlendirmektir.

 

Bu dersin konuları; temel ekolojik kavramlar, ekosistem ve ekositemi oluşturan faktörler, ekosistemlerde madde ve enerji ilişkileri, canlılar arası ilişkiler ve besin zinciri, ekolojik döngüler ve antropojenik etkiler, enerji kaynakları, ekosistemde meydana gelen değişimler, ekosistemler ve doğal koruma alanları, populasyon ekolojisi, çevre kirlenmesinin ekolojik etkileri, çevre sorunları ve çözüm yollarıdır. Ekoloji (ya da çevre bilimi), canlıların birbirleri ve çevreleriyle ilişkilerini inceleyen bilimdir. Canlıları ve yaşam alanlarını inceleyen oldukça kapsamlı bir bilim dalı olması nedeniyle diğer disiplinler ile yakın ilişkili bir bilim dalıdır. Bir sosyolog toplumların yaşama alanlarını araştırırken bir mimar ekolojik binaları tasarlarken ya da bir ziraat mühendisi yeni bir tarım ürünü yetiştirirken ekolojiden yararlanır. Özellikle son yıllarda hukuk, tıp, mimari ve mühendislik dalları da ekolojiden yararlanmaktadır. En önemlisi, küresel bir sorun olan çevre kirliliği, yok olan doğal koruma alanları ve tükenen doğal kaynaklar bu bilim dalının altında incelenmektedir. Bu konular tüm disiplinleri ilgilendiren ortak sorunlarımız olduğu için üniversite dersi olarak bu dersin öğrenciler tarafından alınması büyük önem taşımaktadır.

 

 

Ecology

 

This course is designed to teach students the basic concepts and scope of environmental science, which is of great importance in terms of present global problems.

 

The main objectives of the course:

1.    To inform students about environmental science and basic concepts.

2.    To teach the students ecosystem, anthropogenic effects on events that occur in

the ecosystem and its negative results on the living things.

3.    To provide knowledge about the world's ecosystems, nature conservation areas

and biodiversity. To provide information about ecosystems, conservation areas and biodiversity in the world.

4.    To make students aware of ecological problems and solutions.

 

The subjects of this course are the basic concepts of ecology, ecosystem and ecological factors, material and energy relations in ecosystems, interrelationships between living things and foods chains, ecological cycles and anthropogenic effects, energy resources, changes in ecosystems, ecosystems and natural conservation areas, population ecology, ecological effects of environmental pollution, ecological problems and solutions.

Ecology (or environmental science) is the science that investigates the relationship between living things and their environment. It is a science which is closely related to other disciplines because it is a very comprehensive science that examines living things and living spaces. A sociologist uses ecology to explore the habitats of societies and an architect uses ecology when designing ecological buildings or agriculturalist uses ecology while raising a new agricultural product. Especially in recent years, law, medicine, architecture and engineering areas also benefit from ecology. Most importantly, a global problem, environmental pollution, extinct natural conservation areas and depleted natural resources are examined under this discipline. As these subjects are common problems that concern all disciplines, it is of great importance that students take this course as a university course.

 

GED 111 Eski Anadolu Tarihi

 

Öğrencilerin Anadolu Tarihi ile ilgili, özel konulara yönelerek, bu konuda kütüphane ve saha-müze araştırması yapmalarını olanak tanımak. Bu çerçevede sunum, proje ve bilimsel çalışma yöntemlerini öğrenmelerini sağlamak. Hazırladıkları çalışmaları sınıf ortamında, power point sunumu olarak anlatmalarıyla, deneyim kazanmalarını kolaylaştırmak. Anadolu'da ilk yerleşik kültürlerden başlayarak, M.Ö. 6. yy. kadar uzanan süreçte, Anadolu tarihi ele alınmaktadır. Bu çerçevede Anadolu'nun Prehistorik kültürlerinden başlayarak yerleşme biçimi-kentsel gelişim, siyasi ve sosyal süreç ve bu sürecin doğurduğu maddi yapı örneklerle anlatılmaktadır. M.Ö. II. Binyıldan itibaren Anadolu'nun yazıyla tanışma süreci ve birlikte gelişen merkezi devlet sistemleri ele alınmaktadır. Gelişen süreçte Anadolu'nun Demir Çağ Devletleri, Urartu, Frig, Lidya tarihi ve kültürü işlenmektedir.

 

Ancient Anatolian History

The aim of the course: To give students the opportunity to do research on the subject of Anatolian History, and to do research on the subject of library and field-museum. In this context, to provide presentation, project and scientific study methods. To facilitate the students to gain experience by explaining their work as a power point presentation in a classroom environment.

Content: The history of Anatolia is addressed by starting from the first settled cultures in Anatolia, and  ongoing the process till 6th century BC. In this context, starting from Prehistoric cultures of Anatolia, the way of settlement - urban development, political and social process and the material structure of this process are explained with examples. B.C. II. From the millennium onwards, the process of meeting Anatolia with writing and the central state systems developing together are discussed. In the developing process, Iron Age States of Anatolia, Urartu, Phrygian, Lydian history and culture are studied.

 

GED 112 Etkili İletişim Becerileri ve İlişki Yönetimi

 

Bu program öğrencilere nazik, saygılı, duyarlı kişiler arası  ilişkiler geliştirmesini sağlayacak  iletişim becerilerini kazandırmayı hedefler. Ders içeriği, kişinin kendi gerçek duygu ve düşüncelerini uygun bir dille aktarma becerisini geliştirebilmesine yönelik; iletişimi etkileyen temel bilişsel ve duygusal  arka planın keşfedilmesi, iç görünün oluşması, sosyal farkındalık düzeyinin arttırılması kazanımlarına uygun olarak tasarlanmıştır.

 

 

Effective Communicaton Skils and Relationship Management

This course aims at having students acquire communications skills enabling them to develop relationship as courteous, respectful and perceptive individuals. The contents of the course have been designed in accordance with the development of the person appropriately expressing his or her genuine feelings in exploring the fundamental cognitive and emotional background, and in forging an inner image as well as increasing social awareness level.

 

GED 113 Filmlerdeki İstanbul

 

Sinema Sanatında ,Filmlerde İstanbul adı altında, İstanbul'da üretilen, İstanbul mekanları görüntülerini kullanarak çekilmiş filmleri seyrederek, çeşitli örneklerle tanımayı ve incelemeyi amaçlar. Bu bağlamda öğrenciler sinema terimlerini öğrenerek, türlerini tanıyarak, farklılıkları ayırt ederek, eski ve günümüz İstanbul’unun sosyal, kültürel ve coğrafya olarak görür. İstanbul’un değişen ve gelişen toplumsal yaşamının analizini yaparlar. Türk ve Dünya Sineması’nda pek çok oyuncu ve yönetmen İstanbul’u mekân ve tema olarak kullanmıştır. James Bond serisinden From Russia with Love ve Spectre, Orson Welles’in Journey into Fear ve Fatih Akın’ın İstanbul Hatırası: Köprüyü Geçmek en belirgin örneklerinden birkaçıdır. 007 ile Kapalı Çarsı çatılarında motosiklet kullanmaktan, Şark Expresinde bir cinayetle karsı karşıya kalana kadar sinema seyircisi İstanbul’u yönetmenlerin essiz açılarından görüp, onun karmaşık, labirentli sokaklarına tanık olmuşlardır.

 

 

Istanbul in The Movies

 

The aim of the course; İstanbul Films in Cinema, is to recognize and analyze the films produced in and shot in various venues in Istanbul. In this context, the students learn the terms of cinema, recognize their genres and distinguish the differences, and consider the social, cultural and geography of old and modern Istanbul. They analyze the changing and evolving social life of Istanbul. In Turkish and World Cinema, many actors and directors used Istanbul as a venue and theme. “From Russia with Love” ve “Spectre” from the James Bond series, Orson Welles 's Journey into Fear and Fatih Akın' s Crossing the Bridge: The Sound of Istanbul are some of the most prominent examples. From riding a motorcycle on the roofs of the Grand Bazaar with 007 and facing a murder in the Orient Express, the cinema audience saw Istanbul from the unique aspects of the director’s eyes and witnessed its complex, labyrinthine streets.

 

 

 

 

 

GED 114 Finansal Okur Yazarlık

 

Bu derste;  finansın temel kavramları, finansal sistemin ve finansal kurumların işleyişi, finansal verileri okumak, günlük hayatımızda finansal bilginin yeri gibi başlıklar ele alınacaktır.

 

Financial Literacy

 

In this course; basic concepts of finance, the functioning of financial system and financial institutions, reading financial data, the place of financial information in our daily life will be discussed.

 

  

    GED 115 Fotoğraf Atölyesi

 

Bu derste fotoğraf sanatının kuramsal ve uygulamaya yönelik temel prensipleri ele alınacaktır. Dersin amacı, öğrencilere fotoğraf sanatına dair uygulama ve yöntemlerini ve tartışma konularını tanıştırmaktır.

 

Photography Workshop

 

This course will consider theorotical and practical photography art issue. The aim of this course is; to discuss photography art aplications and methods.

 

 

GED 116 Geleneksel Türk Sanatları

 

Geleneksel Türk Sanatları Dersi; Türk Sanatı Tarihi kapsamında kültürel mirasımızı oluşturan, Türk Kültürünün zenginliğini ve çok katmanlı yapısını yansıtan, sanat ve zanaatın birlikteliği ile ortaya çıkan sanat eserlerini ve usta sanatçılarını inceleyen ve tanıtan bir ders olarak planlanmıştır. Dersin temel alanında; tekstil el sanatları ve kitap sanatları ana başlıkları altında; dokuma sanatı, halı sanatı, kilim, cicim ,zili, sumak, çarpana dokumacılığı, yazmacılık ve çeşitli yöresel dokumalar, tezhip, minyatür, hat, ebru, çini gibi alt başlıklar yer almaktadır. Bu alanlara ilişkin örnekler üzerinden karakteristik özellikleri ve üslupları anlatılacaktır. Ders kapsamında müze, sergi gezileri ve çalıştaylar düzenlenerek geleneksel sanatların gelişim ve değişim süreçleri ile çağdaş üretimleri ve güncel sanat içindeki yeri izlenecektir. 

 

Traditional Turkish Arts

Traditional Turkish Arts Course; It is planned as a course that examines the art works and master artists that come together with the art and craft which reflects the richness and multilayered structure of Turkish Culture, which constitute our cultural heritage within the scope of Turkish Art History. In the basic subject of the course; Art and crafts of textile and Art of books in the main titles; weaving art, carpet art, kilim, cicim, zili, sumac, strut weaving, writing and various local fabrics, illumination, miniature, calligraphy, marbled paper, ceramics are sub-titles such as.Characteristic features and styles will be explained through sample works related to these areas. Within the scope of the course, museum, exhibition trips and workshops will be organized; the development and change processes of traditional arts and contemporary productions will be analyze.

 

GED 117 Görgü ve Protokol Kuralları

 

Görgü kuralları, toplum içinde nasıl davranılması gerektiğine dair bilgi sahibi olarak bireyin toplum içinde kendini doğru davranışlar içinde olmasını, kendini doğru ifade etmesini, insanlarla sağlıklı ve iyi ilişkiler kurmasını, nazik davranmasını sağlayan kurallardır. Protokol kuralları; resmi ilişkilerdeki davranışların çerçevesinin çizilmesi bağlamında; kamuda, devlet geleneklerinde, ulusal ve uluslararası ilişkilerde, resmi törenlerde sergilenmesi gereken tavır ve davranışları içerir. Bu ders, öğrencilerin; toplumsal kültürün geleneksel özelliklerinin de yansıdığı görgü kurallarından ve resmi yaşamdaki protokol kurallarından haberdar olmalarını ve bu doğrultuda davranış değişikliği göstermelerini amaçlar.

 

 

Protocol Rules

 

Good manners are the rules which ensure the individual to know how to conduct accepted behavior in a given social group, to express himself or herself correctly, how to build healthy and good relations with other people, and how to act in a kind fashion. Protocol rules or procedures contain line of conduct and behavior required to exhibit in a public sphere, in state traditions, national and international relations and during official ceremonies. This course has an aim to have the students be informed about the good manners reflecting traditional features of the social culture, and protocol rules and procedures related to the official functionalities, as much as having them go through a behavioral change.

 

 

 

GED 118 Halk Kültürü ve Türkülerin Dili

 

Türküler, Anadolu insanının romanıdır. Yıllarca ihmal edilen ve yazılı edebiyata öyküsü anlatılmayan insanımız; özlemlerini, sevgisini, isyanını, korkusunu ve büyük hümanizmasnı türküler yakarak dile getirmeye çalışmıştır. Bu yüzden Bedri Rahmi Eyüboğlu;

 

“Şairim

Zifiri karanlıkta gelse şiirin hası

Ayak seslerinden tanırım

Ne zaman bir köy türküsü duysam

Şairliğimden utanırım” der.

     

Bu derste, deyişler merkezli Anadolu türküleri dinlenecek, çözümlenecek ve türküleri yakan/yaratan o büyük dehayı besleyen kaynaklar incelenecektir.

 

 

Folk Culture and the Folk Songs

 

Folk Songs are the novels of the Anatolian people. Ignored for years and having untold stories in written literature for years, our people tried to verbalise their longing, passion, rebellion, fear and massive humanism through folk songs. Therefore, Bedri Rahmi Eyüboğlu once said:

“I am a poet,

Even if the best of poems comes in pitch black,

I can recognize it by its footsteps,

Whenever I hear a folk song,

I become ashamed of being a poet.”

In this course, idiom-centred Anatolian folk songs will be listened, analysed, and the sources feeding the great intellect behind the creation of these songs will be examined.

Bu ders, öğrencilere dünya tarihinde icatlar ve inovasyonun tarihi gelişimi hususunda bir perspektif vermeyi hedefliyor. Dünya tarihi perspektifi verildikten sonra ise özel olarak Osmanlı-Türk-İslam tarihinde icatlar-mucitler meseleleri, temel kişiler üzerinden derinlemesine incelenecektir.

This course aims to give students an idea about the place of inventions and innovations in world history. Following a general introduction, specific examples based on prominent figures from Islamic, Ottoman, and Turkish history will be introduced.

 

GED 120 İnsan ve Toplum

     İnsan-toplum ilişkisinin tarihsel süreçte nasıl ele alındığı, bu ilişkinin düşünsel boyutunun tartışılması ve bu etkileşimden doğan güncel sorunların kavranması, bu alana yönelik duyarlılığın, farkındalığın ve eleştirel görüş açısının geliştirilmesi insan ve toplum bilimleri perspektifi içerisinde konu edilir. Böylece insan-toplum ilişkisi antropolojik, felsefi, sosyal ve psikolojik yaklaşımlar açısından ele alınıp incelenir.

 

Human Being and Society

 

The discussion of the relationship between human and society in the historical process, the discussion of the intellectual dimension of this relationship and the understanding of the current problems arising from this interaction, the development of sensitivity, awareness and critical viewpoint in this field are discussed within the perspective of human and social sciences. Thus, the relationship between human and society is examined in terms of anthropological, philosophical, social and psychological approaches.

 

 

GED 121 İş Sağlığı ve Güvenliği

     İş sağlığı ve güvenliğini sağlamak hem insani bir zorunluluk, hem de yasal bir yükümlülüktür. İş sağlığı ve güvenliğini sağlayarak iş kazalarını önlemek, oluşan kayıpları ödemekten daha kolay ve daha insancıl bir yaklaşımdır. Güvenli çalışma koşulları sağlamakla, çalışanların güvenle yaşamasını, sağlığını ve bakmakla yükümlü oldukları kişilerin geleceğini korumak mümkündür. İşletmelerin iş kazalarından doğan kayıplarını azaltmak, üretimin kesintisiz olarak sürmesini sağlamak, iş gücü veriminde ve toplam verimdeki artışlarla ülke kalkınmasına yardımcı olmak sadece işverenin değil, ülkemizin yararınadır. Dünyada, özellikle gelişmiş ülkelerde bu konuda gözlenen olumlu gelişmeler iş kazalarının azaltılabileceğini göstermektedir. Bunun sağlanabilmesi ve iş kazalarının neden olduğu maddi ve manevi kayıpların azaltılabilmesi için iş sağlığı ve güvenliğine yönelik çalışmalara gereken önemin verilmesi zorunludur. İş güvenliğini sağlama amacına, bilimsel araştırmaya dayalı planlı çalışmalar sonucunda geliştirilen güvenlik önlemleri ile ulaşılabileceği unutulmamalıdır.

 

     Occupational Health and Safety

     Ensuring occupational health and safety is both a humanitarian obligation and a legal obligation. Preventing work accidents by ensuring occupational health and safety is easier and more humane approach than paying losses. By providing safe working conditions, it is possible to protect the safety and health of employees and the future of their dependents. Businesses reduce losses arising from accidents at work, ensure the continuation of uninterrupted production, labor productivity in the country's development and to help increase the overall efficiency of the employer not only has the benefit of our country.

     The positive developments observed in the world, especially in developed countries, show that work accidents can be reduced. This provision can be caused by accidents at work and material and moral losses is of utmost importance in order to reduce the need to work towards occupational health and safety is mandatory. It should be kept in mind that work safety is achieved through security measures developed as a result of planned studies based on scientific research.

Bu ders, İstanbul’un kentsel ve sosyo-kültürel gelişiminin irdelenmesini amaçlamaktadır. İstanbul’un kent tarihi, kentsel gelişimi, sosyal ve kültürel dokusu, kıyı ve deniz ilişkisi, konut kültürü ve gelişimi, kentsel dönüşüm, kent ve sanat ilişkisi gibi kavramların yanı sıra, kentsel belleğini ve kent kimliğini oluşturan olgular tartışılacaktır.

      This course aims to examine the urban and socio-cultural development of İstanbul. Besides İstanbul’s urban history, urban development, social and cultural patterns, interrelations of shore and sea, housing culture and development, urban transformation, interrelations of city and art, the phenomenon which forms urban memory and identity will be discussed.

Bu derste kitle iletişimi, edebiyat eserleri çerçevesinde ele alınır. Derste; toplumlarının düşünce hayatını etkileyen, ,edebiyat eserlerine, akımlarına öncülük eden yazar ve şairlerin yapıtlarının kitle iletişiminde nasıl bir rol oynadığı, disiplinler arası bakışla incelenir.

 

 

Mass Communication and Literature

 

            In this course, mass communication is to be covered within the context of literary works. As part of the course, mass communications is to be assessed through an interdisciplinary approach as far as the kind of role of the works of writers and poets who are the leading figures in currents, having an impact in society’s thinking life and the literary world, is played in mass communications.

 

 

GED 125 Kültürlerarası İletişim

 

Kültürleri anlamaya yönelik yapılan araştırmalar, kültürel farklılıkların en açık şekilde görülebildiği alan olan iletişimdeki davranışların da ortaya konabilmesini sağlamaktadır. Bu ders kapsamında kültür tanımları gözden geçirilerek, her yönüyle iletişim incelenecek ve kültürel farklılıklardan kaynaklanan iletişim sorunları üzerinde durulacaktır. Bu kapsamda, kuramsal dayanaklar, farklılaşma ve iletişim, iletişimin yeterliliği temel başlıkları ele alınacaktır. Derste; kültür ve iletişim tanımlarından yola çıkılarak, kültürlerarası iletişim tanımları,  önemi, tarihsel süreci incelenir. Küreselleşme konusu çerçevesinde kültürel farklılıkların önemi vurgulanır. Kuramcılardan Geert Hofstede'in Kültürel Boyutlar Kuramı işlenir ve öğrenciler seçtikleri bir konu üzerinden bu kuram çerçevesinde sunum yaparlar.

         

Intercultural Communication

            Studies conducted to understand the cultures provide communication behaviors. Communication is the area where cultural differences can be seen most clearly. In this course, culture definitions will be reviewed and communication will be examined in all aspects and communication problems arising from cultural differences will be discussed. In this context, theoretical foundations, differentiation and communication, the adequacy of communication will be discussed. Based on the definitions of culture and communication, intercultural communication definitions, importance and historical process are examined. The importance of cultural differences is emphasized in the context of globalization. Geert Hofstede's Theory of Cultural Dimensions is taught and students make a presentation on a topic they choose from within the framework of this theory.

 

 

GED 126 Masal Çözümlemeleri

 

Masallar, toplumların estetik anlamdaki geleceğe açılan kapılarıdır. Anadolu masalları, derlenmiş ama edebi ve estetik yaratıcılık, karakter yaratma ve rol benimsetme, dinleyicilerin/çocukların sosyalleşmelerine yaptığı katkılar bakımlarından incelenmemiştir. Masal Çözümlemeleri adlı derste, zengin bir masal kültürüne sahip olan Türk edebiyatından; özellikle Eflatun Cem Güney, Pertev Naili Boratav ve Ramazan Korkmaz’ın yaptığı derlemelerden hareketle masalların arketipsel sembolizm açısından çözümlemeleri yapılacak, gizli dili anlatılmaya çalışılacaktır.

 

Tale Analysis

 

Tales are the gates of the society opening to the future. Anatolian tales were compiled but not analysed in terms of literary and aesthethic creativity, character creation and role internalization, their contribution to the socialization of the audience/children. In the Tale Analysis course, tales are going to be analysed through the lens of archetypal symbolism and their hidden language will be revealed through the compilations by Eflatun Cem Güney, Pertev Nailli Boratav and Ramazan Korkmaz, which are parts of the culturally-rich Turkish Literature.

 

   

GED 127 Mitoloji

 

Mitoloji insanlara binlerce yıl boyunca ilham vermiştir. Bu ders öğrencilere klasik mitolojiyle ilgili genel bir bakış sağlarken, çeşitli mitolojik karakterlere ve hikayelere odaklanacaktır. Ders, antik dönem Akdeniz mitlerini (Antik Yunan ve Roma) metinler ve filmler aracılığıyla inceleyecektir. Ders, aynı zamanda bu karakterlerle ilgili mitleri tartışırken şu soruları cevaplamaya çalışacaktır: Mitlerin önemi nedir? Bu hikayeler hangi amaçla anlatılmıştır? Böylece, öğrenciler mitolojinin günümüzdeki etkilerini anlayacak ve uzun zaman önce anlatılanları yeniden anlatmanın bize ne sağladığını göreceklerdir.

 

 

Mythology

 

Mythology has inspired people for thousands of years. While providing a general overview of Classical mythology to the students, the course will focus on several mythological figures and their stories. This course will explore ancient Mediterranean myths (Ancient Greek and Rome) thorough movies and proses.  Also, the course will discuss myths about these figures with the following questions in mind. What is the importance of myths? For what puposes were these stories told? So that students will understand the effects of mythology in the present and see what it means to retell stories from long ago and what they do for us.

 

 

 

GED 128 Modern Türk Romanı ve Hikayesi

 

Bu dersin üç ana amacı vardır: 1) Öğrencileri Türk edebiyatının temel metinlerine aşina kılmak. 2) Öğrencilere modern Türk edebiyatı hakkında genel bir bakış açısı kazandırmak 3) Edebi metinlerin iç işleyişini ve yapısını ortaya çıkararak Türk romanına yaklaşımda öğrencilere analitik bir yaklaşım kazandırmak.

 

 

Modern Turkish Novel and Story

 

This course has three aims: 1) To familiarize students with the fundamental works of the Turkish literature 2) To provide the students with a general view about the Turkish literature 3) To have the students attain an analytical approach towards the Turkish fiction by revealing the built-in function and structure of the literary texts.

 

 

GED 129 Mutluluk

 

Bu dersin amacı, öncelikle yazınsal dil aracılığıyla ortaya çıkan ‘anlamsal haz’ olgusu hakkında öğrencilerde farkındalık oluşturmaktır. Yaratıcı dil temelinde farklı duygu ve düşüncelerin tetiklenmesini sağlayan yazınsal metinler, sözcüklerin kanıksanmış yaygın kullanımlarının ötesine geçerek çıkarımlar aracılığıyla satır aralarındaki gizil anlamların keşfedilmelerine aracılık ederler. Bu bağlamda derslerde kısa öyküler, şiirler ve kısa film örnekleri üzerinde yorumlama çalışmaları yapılacak, öğrencilerin anlam ufuklarının genişlemesi amaçlanarak ‘yaşam’ ve ‘mutluluk’ kavramları hakkında farklı bakış açıları geliştirmeleri sağlanacaktır.

 

 

Happiness

 

The aim of this course is to introduce students to ‘the pleasure of meaning’ stemming from literary works that employ ordinary lexical items creatively. In addition, it explores ways to motivate students to look into the relationships amongst language, reasoning and emotions. It also provides a pragmatic climate to free students from the overall semantic load of conventional words by offering a vast array of figurative meanings that can only be deduced inferentially. Students will learn how to interpret short stories, poems and short films and at the end of the semester they will be able to develop new and wider perspectives to relate happiness to life satisfaction.

GED 133 Sanat ve Teknoloji

 

Geç 20. ve 21. yüzyıllarda yaşam biçimimizi tümüyle değiştiren ya da etkileyen teknolojinin, geçen süreç içerisinde sanatla etkileşimini öğrencilere sanat eserleri üzerinden örneklerle anlatmayı hedefleyen bir derstir. Derste Modern Sanat akımlarının tanıtılmasıyla çağdaş sanat örneklerine geçiş sağlanmaktadır. Görseller ve video'larla zenginleşen derste öğrencilerin müze ve galerilerde yapacakları sergiler üzerinden incelemeleri sağlanarak, raporlarını sunmaları istenmektedir.

 

   

Art and Technology

 

The course aims to explain students through works of art with examples that in the late 20th and 21st centuries how completely changing the way of life or affecting the interaction of technology. In the course, the modern art movements will be demonstrated by examples for passing through works of contemporary art. The class will enriched with the images and videos. Students are requested to submit their review reports over the visit of exhibitions in museums and galleries.

 

 

 

GED 134 Sosyal Medya Çağında Kamu Diplomasisi

 

Sosyal medyanın giderek belirleyici hale geldiği günümüzde uluslararası kamuoylarını

etkileme amacı dış politikanın vazgeçilmez bir unsuru haline gelmiştir. İletişim ve haberleşme teknolojilerindeki gelişmelerle etki alanı genişleyen sosyal medya ağları kamu diplomasisi çabalarına yeni bir boyut kazandırmıştır. Son otuz kırk yıl içerisinde önemli değişimler geçiren kamu diplomasisi özellikle devlet dışı aktörlerin ve hatta bireylerin etkili olabildiği bir alan haline geldi. Bu derste kamu diplomasisinin dünden bugüne geçirdiği değişim ve dönüşümler, temel kavramları ile yumuşak güç, halkla ilişkiler ve kültürel diplomasi gibi diğer kavramlarla benzerlikleri, ilişkileri ve farklılıkları ulusal ve uluslararası örneklerle ele alınacaktır.

 

Public Diplomacy in the Social Media Era

 

To influence international publics has become an inalienable aim of foreign policy as the social media has become an increasingly dominant vehicle for communications. Social media networks, whose area of influence has expanded exponentially over the years as a result of technological innovations in communications technologies, have certainly added a new dimension to public diplomacy. Over the last five decades or so, public diplomacy has transformed itself into a new area where non-state actors and even individuals can play an important role. In this course public diplomacy, its evolution over the last five decades, its basic concepts together with its relations with, and its similarities and dissimilarities to, soft power, public relations and cultural diplomacy through various exemples of national and international public diplomacy exercices.

 

 

GED 135 Şiir ve İnsan

 

Dersin amacı öğrenciye genelde edebiyatın, özelde şiirin temel kavram ve terimlerini, içeriğini ve sınırlarını öğretmektir. Bir sanat dalı olarak edebiyat terminolojisi, edebiyatın  geçmişten günümüze serüveni, edebi türlerin zirvesinde yer alan şiirin tarihsel yolculuğunu ve modern dünya edebiyatı içinde günümüz  toplumlarındaki yeri, kavrayışı, ve uygulamalarına dair genel bir bakış kazandırılır.

GED 136 Sinema ve Kadın

 

Türk sinemasında yer alan kadın oyuncuların özyaşam öyküleri; dönemleri, filmleri, oyunculukları açısından ele alınarak film analizleri uygulamalı olarak gerçekleştirilir. Seçilen her kadın portresi, kısa bir belgesel film senaryosu haline getirilir böylelikle de, senaryo yazım tekniği ve belgesel film senaryosu ve bu senaryonun görselle buluşturularak belge-video çalışması gerçekleştirmek, dersin amaçları arasında yer almaktadır.

 

Cinema and Woman

The course aims at the student, Women in Turkish Cinema under the title of periods of Turkish Cinema, actors and directors, within the framework of world cinema to introduce various examples and readings. As well as theoretical narratives, case studies, monitoring, and by practicing, students will receive an active part in the course. Will be captured in the documentary film, students learn the methods of research, aimed to improve their visual thinking skills.

The cours aim to:

1-Students have a general knowledge about the history of Turkish cinema.        

2- The students, testify to the period of Turkish cinema.The first semester will have an idea of cinema actresses autobiography.

3- Conduct research on their chosen players. Suffered a short documentary, consolidate what they have learned.

 

 

GED 137 Üreme Sağlığı 

 

Sağlıklı bir nesil sağlıklı beden imajı ve kimliğin kazanımı, gelişimde biyo-psikosoyal sağlığı sürdürmek ile olasıdır. Anne ve çocuk sağlığı düzeylerini yükseltmek, aşırı doğurganlığın olumsuz etkilerini azaltmak ve nüfus artışını ekonomik gelişmemizi engellemeyecek düzeyde tutabilmek amacıyla üreme sağlığı hizmetlerine ağırlık ve öncelik verilmesi önem taşımaktadır. Bu doğrultuda sunulan ders ile öğrencilerin; okul sağlığı, aile sağlığı ve gençlerin üreme sağlığı ve eğitimi hakkında bilgilenmesi ve beceri geliştirmesi amaçlanır. Üreme sağlığı ve hakları, cinsellik ve cinsel sağlık, toplumsal cinsiyet, iletişim ve danışmanlık, enfeksiyon önlenmesi ve kalite konularında bilgi, beceri ve tutum kazanmak dersin ana hedeflerini oluşturur.

 

 

     Reproductive Health

     Healthy body image and the acquisition of identity of a healthy genaration is possible with the maintenance of bio-psychosocial health during development. In order to increase the level of maternal and child health, to reduce the negative effects of excessive fertility and to keep the population growth at a level that does not prevent our economic development, it is important to give weight and priority to reproductive health issues.  The aim of the course is to provide information about school health, family health and reproductive health and education of young people and to develop skills. The main objectives of the course are gaining knowledge, skills and attitudes on reproductive health and rights, sexuality and sexual health, gender, communication and counseling, infection prevention and quality issues.

 

     GED 138 Sıfır Atık ve Çevre Teknolojileri

            

       Bu dersin amacı çevreye duyarlılığı artırarak çevre kirletici atıkların tüketimini mümkün olan en az düzeye indirilerek doğanın korunmasının öğretilmesi ve çıkan atıkların teknolojik kaynaklar kullanılarak geri dönüşüm yolarının araştırılmasıdır. Ders kapsamında sıfır atık yönetmeliği, çevre yönetimi, atık ayrıştırma yöntemleri ve atık dönüşüm teknolojileri detaylı olarak anlatılacaktır.

 

 

Zero Waste And Environmental Technologies

 

The aim of this course is to increase the sensitivity to the environment by minimizing the consumption of environmental pollutant wastes to the lowest possible level and to teach the protection of nature by using technological resources. Within the scope of the course, zero waste regulation, environmental management, waste separation methods and waste transformation technologies will be explained in detail.

 

GED 139  Uygarlık Tarihi

Bu derste yüzyıllar içinde bir nesilden diğerine aktarılan uygarlık sürecinin temel olguları ve ilerlemeler ele alınacaktır. Eski Ön Asya ve Mısır uygarlıkları ile başlayıp Eski Yunan ve Helen uygarlıkları ve kültürü ile devam edilecektir. Ardından Roma uygarlığı ve Ortaçağ ile devam edilecek, sonra da Ortaçağ’ı sona erdiren Rönesans ve Dinde Reform ile Aydınlanma çağı incelenecektir. Amerikan ve Fransız devrimleri ile Sanayi devrimi ve XX. Yüzyılın alt yapısını oluşturan kavramlar, fikir hareketleri ve ilerlemeler üzerinde durulacaktır.

 

History of Civilization

This course provides a survey of events and progress that led to the process of civilization that goes from one generation to the other. Starting off by outlining basic features of ancient Egyptian, Mezopotamian and Anatolian civilizations, it will move on to ancient Greek and Helenistic period. It will then deal with the Roman civilization and the Middle Ages, before it moves on to the Renaissance, the Reform in Religion as well as the period of the Enlightenment, all of which brought an end to the Middle Ages. The American and French Revolutions as well as the Industrial Revolution together with major concepts, political and social thought and the progress that made up of the twentieth century will all be looked at.

The aim of the course is to comprehend the importance of reputation management for companies and the impact of reputation on strategic corporate communication activities. The content of the course is composed of the performance areas affecting CEO's reputation management, brand image, reputation-image relationship, social responsibility projects and crisis management.
